5 Events That You Have to Attend in 2010

As we are now officially in 2010, I think it’s time we take a look at the season ahead, so in a way that only Letterman can, here’s the Top 5 events that you have to watch (and attend) in 2010.

Number 5; Masters of Formula 3, 6th June; Zandvoort, Netherlands.

The famous Masters of Formula 3 is another race which is steeped in history and after a few years at Zolder, the race returned to Zandvoort last year, and so this years race will definitely be one to watch. Tickets are avaliable here.

Number 4; British Touring Car Championship, 4th April, Thurxton, England

In the UK , the TOCA package has in recent years been the support package of choice for young racers looking to be part of a high profile series. Formula Renault UK will have 2 races at the event, and with Thruxton being known for high speeds and overtaking, this is definitely an event not to miss. Tickets are avaliable here.

Number 3; World Touring Car Championship (with Formula Two support races), 20th June; Zolder, Belgium.

After a very successful first year, the second year of the Formula Two championship has increased it’s calendar to 9 events, one of these events will be Zolder, in Belgium. The classic race circuit will have the World Touring Car’s on the same day, as well as the usual smorgasbord of support series. Tickets are avaliable here.

Number 2; Formula Ford Festival, 17th October; Brands Hatch, England.

The 39th running of the Formula Ford Festival sees stars of the future line up to win this blue ribbon event. The Brands Hatch Indy circuit will once again host this great event that has a great support package of Caterhams, Classic Formula Fords and the Ford Fiesta championships. Tickets are avaliable here.

Number 1; Macau Grand Prix, 21st November; Macau, China.

As one of the last Motorsport events in the year, the Macau Grand Prix is your last chance to see some high-profile action before the season finishes. Add the high speeds of Formula 3 to the single line, barrier lined streets of Macau and you have one of the most exciting events of the year. Tickets are avaliable here.

Where ever you go this year, let us know about it!

Have attended BTCC at Croft for the last two years (for the last two years it has also chucked it down). So definatly will be there, I think its only £25 on the door as well. Its well worth the money. More racing than F1 and much more excitement.

Good to see Formula Renault having two races, I do enjoy the single seaters at the event. Only chance I get to see such cars live.

Might, I say might, even give the British Superbikes a go as well at Croft, never tried it. I assume thats a feeder to the main Superbike championship?

  • Yeah, British Superbikes is ‘below’ World Superbikes but BSB events also have their own Feeder Series; Supersport, 125cc, Teenage championships too (much like the Ginetta Juniors).

  • It is about time I went back to my nearest TOCA round, at Thruxton. You should note that it is on 4th April, though.. and shame it clashes with F1!
